We are continuing to strengthen our students’ skills in Number and problem solving by providing rich, open ended, relatable experiences that help students consolidate skills and concepts and move from the concrete to the abstract. She also presented two sessions on Number Sense at the 2019 MAV Conference in Melbourne. (Developing Number Sense by Kerri Smith) This year our local cluster of schools is also focusing on Maths through our Professional Learning Community as we share common tasks and assessment strategies and build up teacher understanding of data literacy. Our aim is to create a consistent approach to the teaching of Numeracy across our cluster and to share best practice.
